Lying on her side under the thick comforter, she speaks to the floor-to-ceiling window. The words are absorbed by the sheets, the carpet, the curtains; she tries again.
"Get away from the window."
Again, there's no reply. She lays there for a few more minutes before finally sitting up and walking over to the window, the blanket around her shoulders, dragging along behind her.
"I don't understand what you're doing."
She looks out. The sun is down, the skyline is beautiful. All she sees is the person on the other side.
It's not a question. She places her hand against the cool glass, seeing another do the same. For a moment they appear to touch before it pulls away, falling down behind the body. She takes her hand back. A few tears start to fall.
"I told you to stay away from the window."
The blanket lands on the floor, left behind; she heads back to bed and lies down again to sleep.
